Halloween is right around the corner and Team Nounou is preparing for the fiendish festivities! In this month\u2019s Activity booklet, we share some great DIY past times with our families. And because we don\u2019t want you to miss out on the fun, we\u2019re sharing them here too!<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Creative pastimes at home are a great way to occupy the kids outside of television, and they\u2019re also great for engaging and increasing important development skills. In fact, it\u2019s as young as age 6 when our creative development peaks<\/a>! Chocolate and candy aside, Halloween is a great opportunity to get artistic with children and let them inspire themselves making decorations.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

At Be My Nounou, we keep it simple. You don\u2019t need to go out and get 20 different supplies, most of our projects are made using simple household items, which you\u2019d normally throw away!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Scary Spider<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Step One<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Cut out the bottom of the toilet roll into strips.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step Two <\/strong><\/span>
\nTuck every other strip inside the body of the toilet roll.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step Three<\/strong><\/span>
\nBend the ends of the legs for more stability.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step Four<\/strong><\/span>
\nAdd on eyes and a mouth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step Five<\/strong><\/span>
\nYou can also draw the body of the spider or paint it different colours! Have fun!<\/span><\/p>\n

Step One<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Draw 2 wings on black card, making them nice and spiky!<\/span><\/p>\n

Step Two<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Cut out the wings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step Three<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Paint the toilet roll with black paint, wait for half an hour or until dry. This is the body of your bat.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step Four<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Glue wings in the back of your bat (the toilet roll)<\/span><\/p>\n

Step Five<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Draw the eyes (or use stick-on googly eyes) and cut out little teeth with white paper. Put your fingers inside the roll to make a puppet!<\/span><\/p>\n

Repeat until you have as many bats as you want!<\/span><\/p>\n

Ghoulish Ghost<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Step One<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Outline your hands in pencil on sheets of paper.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step Two <\/strong><\/span>
\nCut out the drawings with scissors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step Three<\/strong><\/span>
\nGlue fingers of the hands together, to form a line.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step Four<\/strong><\/span>
\nStick on the googly eyes and draw a mouth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step Five<\/strong><\/span>
\nContinue as much as you like to create a “ghost frieze” or attach them for a ghost garland, as in the picture.<\/span><\/p>\n
